Day 1 Arrive Cairo
Arrive in the hustle and bustle of Cairo where you will be welcomed by a local representative and transferred to the Four Seasons Nile Plaza. Located right on the banks of the Nile River, the hotel offers magnificent views across this busy waterway and a rooftop terrace complete with outdoor swimming pool.

Day 2 Cairo
Your journey through Egypt starts today with a visit to the famous Pyramids of Giza, constructed for some of the mightiest Pharaohs. The Great Pyramid of Giza remained the tallest man-made structure in the world for 3,800 years. You will also discover the magnificent Sphinx, which acts as guardian to the Pharaoh's enormous funerary monument. After lunch visit the Khan-el-Khalili Bazaar. This is the largest souk in the Middle East and its labyrinthine streets burst with colours and aromas.
Option: You may choose to spend an additional night in Cairo in order to visit the historic Coptic quarter including the Coptic Museum, Hanging Church and St Sergius Monastery.

Day 3 Cairo - Aswan
After breakfast, fly to Aswan and transfer to the legendary Old Cataract Hotel where Agatha Christie wrote 'Death on the Nile'. Later, board your private felucca for a delightful voyage to Soheil Island for an insight into Nubian life. Spend time with the Nubians learning about their history and traditions before enjoying taking a gentle sail back to the hotel to enjoy afternoon tea on the famous Old Cataract terrace.
Option: Depart Cairo very early in the morning and fly via Aswan to Abu Simbel for a tour of the impressive temples, originally built by King Ramses II. Return to Aswan in the early afternoon.

Day 4 - 6 The Nile
Board the Sonesta St George cruiser for your journey down the Nile to Luxor. For the next three days explore the very best of this historic river, taking in attractions such as the Philae Temple, the Aswan High Dam, the Aga Khan's Mausoleum and the magnificently preserved Temple of Edfu. On reaching Luxor you will visit the stunning Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, Colossi of Memnon and Temples of Luxor and Karnak. Life on board the St George is delightfully relaxing and there will be plenty of time to recline on deck as you glide past scenes of authentic Egyptian life on the Nile's shoreline.

Day 7 Luxor
After breakfast, disembark and transfer to the Hilton Luxor. Today will be entirely at leisure to take in more of the sights, relax by the pool or perhaps shop for local crafts and textiles in the bazaar.
Option: With a private guide, explore the lesser-visited tomb of Nefertari, first of the Great Royal Wives of Rameses the Great, a beauty, diplomat and writer and reader of hieroglyphs.

Day 8 Depart
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before transferring to Luxor Airport for your onward arrangements.
Option: You may like to extend your journey with a few nights on the beach, staying at the beautiful Four Seasons Sharm el Sheikh.
