Day 4 - 5 Kaokoland, northwest Namibia
This morning you will be taken to the airstrip for your private light aircraft flight to Kaokoland and Hoanib Valley Camp. Weather and fog-permitting you will have some stunning views of the desoltae Skeleton Coast en-route. In the heart of north-western Namibia, Kaokoland is characterised by a varied landscape of mountains, dunes, and expanses of desert with a scattering of nomadic Himba families. Hoanib Valley Camp is the result of a wonderful partnership between the Giraffe Conservation Foundation and local communities which has proved to be immensely successful. With just six tents, the camp has a very exclusive feel and all the materials used to build it were sourced locally, as was the hand-crafted furniture and it is, of course, completely solar powered.
