One&Only Nyungwe House, set in a remote location amongst the working Gisakura tea-plantation in southwest Rwanda, is a newly opened luxury retreat offering breath-taking outdoor pursuits and wellness experiences. Nyungwe Forest, the largest mountain rainforest on the African continent and home to 20% of all the apes in Africa, is considered the best place to view rare species of chimpanzees. The lush habitat surrounding the lodge is also home to endangered monkeys, including the owl-faced, golden and colobus monkeys, as well as hundreds of bird species and numerous stunning orchids, butterflies and moths.
The décor in the wilderness safari eco-lodge is contemporary and designed to reflect the natural surroundings. The 23 air-conditioned guest rooms and suites are spacious with log burners, wilderness-view showers and private terraces that look out over the leafy rainforest and surrounding mountains. Enjoy sunrise breakfasts, sumptuous meals and evening cocktails in the restaurant and bar located in the main lodge. For relaxation, the One&Only Spa has an extensive menu of indigenous spa therapies and the gym has a range of Technogym equipment.
