Singita Ebony Lodge spreads along the banks of the Sand River in Singita’s privately owned reserve, located within the Sabi Sands Game Reserve. It offers a fresh and contemporary vision of the classic safari lodge, combining tented camp and bush lodge style.
Twelve canvas and glass, tent-style suites have private plunge pools. Their outdoor pavilion decks are suspended off the riverbanks, as if hanging in the trees, to maximise views of the surrounding wilderness. For added privacy, the two-bedroom Ebony Villa has its own swimming pool, boma and deck area and comes with a chef, host, personal waiter, private guide and vehicle.
Early morning and late afternoon game drives are the highlight of the Singita experience, offering you the chance of excellent wildlife sightings in the company of experienced rangers and trackers. As well as the Big Five, you may be fortunate enough to see cheetah, spotted hyena and even wild dog, in addition to plenty of reedbuck, nyala and other plains game.
Drives are rounded off with either a hearty breakfast out in the bush in the morning or sundowners by the vehicle as the sun dips below the horizon, before heading back for a delicious dinner and an extensive list of fine wines. Pre-dinner drinks in the bar always inspire great conversation as guests swap tales of the day’s excitement. In addition to game drives, guests can also enjoy guided safari walks, during which your ranger will explain how to ‘read’ the bush and get you up close to the park’s flora and smaller fauna.
