This eye-catching hotel occupies the six floors above the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, on Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront. Converted from a former grain silo by British designer Thomas Heatherwick, the hotel's most striking feature is a network of bulging, multi-faceted windows, inspired by the shape of grain kernels. While the concrete and glass façade of The Silo has a sleek industrial feel, the welcoming interiors offer an eclectic contrast of Persian carpets, sumptuous furnishings and jewel-like colours. Each of the 28 beautifully designed guest suites boast fabulous views of the mountains or of Table Bay below; the hotel’s dazzling contemporary art collection complements that of the Zeitz MOCAA and original pieces are displayed throughout every room.
