Day 1 Arrive Cape Town
Your hire car will be delivered to your hotel. Set on its own private Quay on Cape Town's vibrant Victoria and Alfred Waterfront with Table Mountain as its backdrop, The Cape Grace is ideally located for exploring the city.

Day 2 - 3 Cape Town
Enjoy any number of child-friendly activities in Cape Town: take the cable car up Table Mountain, see the Jobaria dinosaur skeleton at the Iziko South Africa Museum, feed ostrich at Cape Point, find semi-precious stones at Mineral World or visit the penguins at Simon's Town.

Day 4 Grootbos
Drive to Grootbos. Grootbos Garden Lodge is situated on the 1,750 hectare Grootbos Private Nature Reserve in the Gansbaai area and overlooks the whale-watching haven of Walker Bay. Accommodation comprises of eleven free-standing suites, three of which are family suites welcoming children of all ages. Decorated with a traditional African theme using native woods and warm earthy textures it retains an authentic atmosphere. Each suite comes with a lounge and fireplace, tea and coffee making facilities and mini bars, spacious bedrooms with extra length beds and finely appointed en-suite bathrooms, all with breath-taking views.

Day 5 - 6 Grootbos
Children will enjoy a programme of learning activities, including exploring rock pools, treasure hunts and horseback rides. Between July and November groups of Southern Right whales may be spotted close to the shores.

Day 7 Kurland
Drive to Kurland just outside Plettenberg Bay on South Africa's Garden Route, sheltered by the mountains of the Western Cape. Kurland was created with children and parents in mind: There is a private playroom, babysitting service and a Children's Dining Conservatory offering special menus. Children's facilities are set in their very own area away from the main hotel, to allow them space whilst offering a degree of peace for grown-ups. The Loft rooms are particularly suitable for families as they have play space for children.

Day 8 - 9 Plettenberg Bay
Beaches Explore the sandy beaches, lagoons and animal sanctuaries of Plettenberg Bay. For older children, enjoy sea kayaking, water skiing or snorkelling. The area is a paradise for lovers of the outdoors.

Day 10 Kwandwe Private Game Reserve
Drive to the Kwandwe Private Game Reserve. Kwandwe means 'place of the blue crane' and the reserve is home to this and other endangered species, such as black wildebeest, the Cape Grysbok and the black-footed cat.

Day 11 - 12 Kwandwe Private Game Reserve
Enjoy game drives, interpretive walks in the Game Reserve. Kwandwe is a malaria-free reserve on the Eastern Cape. Abundant game, including the 'Big Five' (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, elephant), comfortable accommodation and friendly staff make this a wonderful first-time safari experience. Cheetah sightings are spectacular and the reserve is also home to the rare black rhino. All activities are tailored to suit families of all ages.

Drive to Port Elizabeth. Depart on your flight to Johannesburg. Depart for your international flight home.
