Siwandu is set on the shores of Lake Nzerakera, sheltered in a grove of palms and ideally located to absorb the stunning surrounding landscape of the Nyerere National Park, an area rich in wildlife, superlative for game viewing and home to a vast array of endemic flora. The reserve is also blessed with more than half of Tanzania’s elephant population, 4,000 lion, 120,000 buffalos, 40,000 hippo and the world’s largest population of rare wild dogs. Ten octagonal, canvas tents with ample amounts of space are spread along the lake shore. They feature thatched roofs, wooden decked verandahs and mosquito netting sides, which allow for good observation of wandering wildlife.There is also the option to book the entire camp for a group, offering a homely, private stay in the heart of the African bush.
