TREATMENTS AND ACTIVITIES

Carnoustie offers treatments based on the Ayurvedic medical tradition including full Panchakarma lasting 21 nights. As well as Ayurveda, here you'll find practitioners of Marma Point Therapy and Pranic Healing.

PRACTITIONERS

The ratio of doctors (Ayurvedic) to therapists here (nine doctors / 18 therapists) is different to many health resorts since the doctors themselves perform many of the treatments.

FACILITIES

The spa treatment rooms are light and airy and, additionally, three guest villas have been converted into therapy rooms for extra privacy. Above the spa is a gorgeous, open-sided yoga sala where private sessions and twice-daily group yoga takes place. There are also two open-air yoga platforms in the hotel grounds and also a very small gym. The outdoor pool is large and considerately-located in a very private position within the resort to allow for modesty while the beach is small but entirely private and shaded by coconut palms.

SLEEPING

The detached villas come in five categories and all except the standard villas have private pools. They are beautifully decorated with spacious en-suite bathrooms and many having outdoor (as well as indoor) showers.

EATING

Two restaurants serve international and Indian cuisine with one dedicated to fish and seafood. While guests can choose anything from the à la carte menus, those on an Ayurvedic programme will have a diet prescribed for them by their doctor.
