Day 1 Arrive in Kuala Lumpur
Upon arrival in Kuala Lumpur today you will be met at the airport and driven to your hotel in private vehicle. This evening, a private guide will introduce you to the city with a visit to the bustling night markets of Chinatown. Stroll through the vibrant stalls and call in at the fascinating Sri Maha Mariamman temple, with its intricately carved deities. You will then have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious Malay dinner before being transferred back to your hotel for the evening.

Day 2 Sepilok Nature Reserve
This morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Sandakan to begin your Bornean adventure. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the Sepilok Nature Reserve, where the rest of the day is at leisure enjoy the beautiful lake and rainforest surroundings.

Day 3 Sepilok to Sukau
This morning you will be able to visit the remarkable Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, with an opportunity to witness feeding time, visit the nursery and learn about more about the incredible conservation programme. There will also be a chance to visit the Borneo Sun Bear Centre and learn about the conservation of the world's smallest bear. This afternoon transfer to Sandakan jetty for your scenic journey along Sabah's longest river to the Sukau Rainforest Lodge. After time to settle in, there may be the opportunity to take a late afternoon wildlife spotting cruise. This evening dine by candlelight by the river and take in a presentation by a local naturalist.

Day 4 Wildlife activities in Sukau
Today is dedicated to explorations of the pristine surroundings of the the Sukau Rainforest Lodge. Enjoy a morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake. The calm waters make Kelenanap a haven for wildlife and native birds. Later in the morning take a guided tour along the Hornbill Boardwalk located behind the lodge with your in-house naturalist. This afternoon a cruise along the Menanggol River provides further opportunities to spot a wealth of rainforest inhabitants.

Day 5 In Search of Orang Utan
This morning provides a further opportunity to spot wildlife around the Kelenap oxbow lake. Later this afternoon you will set out on a dedicated Orang Utan tracking excursion to the Gomantong Cave. Explore the boardwalk trails with your guide, all the while keeping a lookout for 'The Man of the Jungle'. As sunset approaches you may also have the opportunity to witness the exodus of millions of bats from the cave.

Day 6 Sukau to Danum Valley
After a final breakfast at Sukau you will make the overland journey to the Borneo Rainforest Lodge, located in the Dannum Valley. After a first lunch at the lodge, set out on a guided trek through a pristine area of Borneo's primary rainforest. Enjoy stunning wildlife walks along its trails, refreshing rock pool swims and a bird's eye view of the forest from the canopied suspension bridge. After dinner, there may be the option to go out on a night drive for a chance to see some of the larger mammals of Borneo which emerge after dark.

Day 7 Borneo rainforest adventures
Wake to the evocative sound of Bornean Gibbons. Your day might begin with a trek to Coffin Cliff, an ancient burial site of the Kadazandusun tribe where remains of hardwood coffins may be observed in the caves on the limestone hills. The walk continues, taking in spectacular views over the Danum Valley. After lunch at the lodge you can choose from a range of activities including guided jungle treks, tubing down the Dannum River or quiet contemplation and sundowners whilst listening to the sounds of the forest. This evening, set out on a guided night walk by torchlight to look for nocturnal rainforest creatures.

Day 8 Jungle & Waterfalls
Another full day of exhilarating adventures awaits in the rainforests of Borneo. A morning jungle walk in search of flora and fauna leads to the Fairy and Serpent Falls. Here you can enjoy some time absorbing the beauty of the falls and maybe even take a cooling dip. This afternoon you may wish to take another guided nature walk tracing the route of the Segama River, and another night excursion will be on offer this evening if conditions allow.

Day 9 Borneo to Kuala Lumpur
Bid farewell to the rainforest today and travel back to Lahad Datu airport, in time for your flight to Kuala Lumpur. Transfer to your hotel and spend an afternoon at leisure, perhaps relaxing by the pool or enjoying a little pampering after your jungle adventures.

Day 10 Explore Kuala Lumpur
Your private guide will meet you at your hotel this morning and escort you on a walking tour designed to showcase the most important landmarks of Malaysia's capital city. You will first discover some of the colonial era monuments concentrated around Merdeka Square, such as the City Hall, theatre and court buildings. Continue on to the old Post Office building, the Textile Museum and the Art Deco inspired Industrial Court. Conclude your tour with a visit to St Mary's Cathedral followed by the striking Masjid India.

Day 11 Kuala Lumpur to Desaru
Depart the city today and fly south to Johor province. From here you will transfer to the stunning One&Only Desaru, a world-class beachfront hideaway positioned between the lush jungles and powder-white sands of Malaysia's south-eastern shores.

Day 12 - 13 Beach relaxation on the Desaru Coast
Enjoy two full days to relax and bask in the exquisite surroundings of the One&Only Desaru Coast. Unwind with a bespoke treatment in the spa or wade into the cerulean waters that lap gently against the pristine sands. After a final breakfast at the One&Only, transfer to Johor Baru airport in plenty of time for your flight to Kuala Lumpur and onward flight home.
