Set deep into the hillside just outside the village of Dhulikhel, this remote retreat was built to take advantage of the soul-stirring Himalayan views. 39 expansive suites boast sprawling indoor and outdoor living spaces, and are adorned with Nepalese fabrics. Days are spent on walks around the Dhulikhel foothills (or hardier expeditions into the Himalayas), practising yoga, visiting the resident Ayurvedic doctor or learning about Vedic philosophy. In the woodland spa, treatments are based on Buddhist medicine, while an incredible collection of chakra sound chambers, a Himalayan rock salt house and a meditation maze bolster the experience.
