Day 1 Arrive Colombo

On arrival, you will be met by a Red Savannah representative who will transfer you to your accommodation. Located a short drive from Colombo's international airport yet tucked away in amongst tropical vegetation and small villages, this old colonial manor house has been lovingly restored to create a boutique, luxury private hideaway. Enjoy delicious home-cooked Sri Lankan cuisine and excellent service.

Day 2 Seaplane to Batticaloa

After a good night's rest, enjoy a leisurely morning strolling around the property's five acres of tropical landscaped gardens. At around lunchtime, take a breath-taking internal seaplane flight to Batticaloa. Your scenic flight will take you right across the island and over Kandy where you'll have a birdseye view of the famous Temple of the Tooth. After 55 minutes, land on the lake and transfer to Uga Bay, your relaxing home for six nights. Uga Bay is situated on a prime position of Passekudah's glorious white sandy beach, with clear and calm shallow waters which are great for snorkelling, diving, kayaking and fishing. Enjoy ocean facing accommodation, a great variety of Sri Lankan and international cuisine and a magnificent pool.

Day 3 - 7 Relaxing at Uga Bay

Five full days relaxing at Uga Bay.

Day 8 Yala National Park

After breakfast, continue with your private chauffeur-guide to Yala National Park, with a journey time of around five hours. On arrival, check in to your spectacular villa, which has a private plunge pool and discuss your two-day personalised programme with the delightful staff. Time permitting, you will join other guests on a safari drive with a knowledgeable ranger and tracker to spot leopards, sloth bear, wild boar and a whole host of other amazing wildlife. Just 14 private villas sit hidden amongst the jungle yet only a stone's throw away from the crashing waves of the Indian Ocean. Enjoy two daily safari drives and time in between to relax.

Day 9 Leopards and Wildlife

Rise early for your safari drive. Your driver will already have your entry tickets, which will ensure you get into the park first and avoid all of the other vehicles. You will venture off the beaten track to enjoy some of the more remote areas of the national park to spot the elusive leopard - this is one of the world's most densely populated areas for leopards. After a couple of hours, stop for hot drinks and snacks before you continue your adventure. Mid-morning you will return to your villa for a delicious breakfast and time at leisure. In the afternoon, venture out on your second safari drive of the day before you return after sunset to relax and enjoy al fresco dining.

Day 10 Colombo

After a final game drive, return to Colombo with your chauffeur-guide. The final stop on your Sri Lankan adventure is The Residence, part of the Uga Escapes portfolio. The property is situated in the heart of Colombo in leafy Park Street and it is surprisingly calm and peaceful amidst the noise and chaos that is usual for a capital city.
