Kamalaya has a well-deserved reputation as one of the best health and wellness facilities in Thailand. Located in the south of Koh Samui on the Gulf of Thailand it overlooks vast stretches of beach and many smaller islands.
TREATMENTS AND ACTIVITIES
If you book a programme some treatments and activities will be included, some are at additional cost and there is a daily roster of group activities available free of charge. Treatments and activities include massages, far infra-red sauna, colonic hydrotherapy, yoga, mat Pilates, aqua aerobics, Tai Chi.
Kamalaya’s Structural Revival Programme is designed to improve function and vitality and reduce tension through realigning the body and improving posture. Structural imbalances are identified and exercises prescribed by physiotherapists based on Asian and Western techniques, including Pilates, Myofacial Release, Aqua Fitness, traditional Asian foot massage, stretching exercises and Thai Therapeutic massage. In addition to improving alignment, the holistic therapies address circulation, organ function, energy and emotional wellbeing.
FACILITIES
Open-fronted massage rooms take advantage of the sea breeze, a large and light-filled gym with panoramic views, covered yoga sala, sizeable lap pool, beach, far infra-red saunas, steam cavern and tea lounge.
PRACTITIONERS
The team of naturopaths at Kamalaya will work out a tailored schedule for you but among the most popular reasons to come are to detox, lose weight and get fit. There are also talks and treatments available from visiting practitioners with specialisms such as Kinesiology, Astrology and Spiritual Healing.
SLEEPING
Rooms vary in size and location from Standard Hillside Rooms at 35sqm up to the new Spa Suites with their own living area and spacious balcony. There are also two very large suites with private pools. NB: WiFi is available in the bedrooms (only) at a small supplementary charge.
EATING
The Detox and Ideal Weight Menu offers an array of Asian and Western dishes featuring many vegetarian and fish options, as well as chicken, duck and lamb.
There is also an à la carte menu which is still healthy but a little higher in calories. Juices and teas are freely available during all meals.
Soma Restaurant features a Community Table where anyone can choose to sit for breakfast or dinner to take advantage of meeting new and like-minded people.
