ACCOMMODATION
With a variety of rooms on offer, choose from the Mountain View Suites overlooking the granite grey peaks of the Remarkables, or the Lake View Suites, with expansive views over the polished surface of Lake Wakatipu. For those seeking a little more space, the Penthouse and the Residence are two glittering jewels in Eichardt's crown, with private balconies and stunning views of both the snow-capped mountains and the lake. The Penthouse boasts a 24-hour butler, pre-dinner cocktails and a private chef, while the Residence, situated just a short walk from the main hotel, covers three floors, with bathtubs big enough to swim in.
WINE AND DINE
Try Eichardt's Bar, a local favourite since 1867, and the perfect spot for a tasty tipple. Bursting with history and character, the ambiance within is wonderfully welcoming and cosy. The menu offers tasty tapas, from wild rabbit rillettes to the legendary seafood chowder. We recommend pairing this with one of the punchy cocktails on the menu, especially the specialty Spiced Espresso Martini to give you a little kick. For a more formal affair, The Grille provides a stylish and sophisticated setting from which to enjoy the flavours of New Zealand. Each dish is meticulously designed by Executive chef Will Eaglesfield to ensure the tastes of the region shine through. A must try are the fresh oysters drizzled in a lemon and garlic dressing or baked in garlic and speck breadcrumbs.
ACTIVITIES
There is plenty to keep you busy at Eichardt's, who offer their guests a spectacular array of activities. For those seeking an adrenaline rush, try New Zealand's highest bungy jump or raft down tumultuous rapids for your fill of excitement. Alternatively, for those hoping for some relaxation, visit one of the best vineyards and try some exclusive wines, or spend an afternoon on the hotel's private boat, sipping Sauvignon and nibbling on some fresh canapes as you swish past the towering granite mountains. During winter experience the untouched powder on Eichardt's very own private ski fields, and apres-ski scene, including helicopter transfers.
