ACCOMMODATION
The lodge hosts a total of 32 guests, meaning it is wonderfully cosy and personal, while the staff are on hand to cater to your every desire. There are delightful walks that snake along towards hidden waterfalls, and the lake shorelines. Everywhere you turn, you will be met by stunning vistas of the mountains and their snowy tipped peaks.
The simple and sophisticated interiors blend seamlessly together with the homely feeling of the luxury lodges. Makatauri Lodge doesn't have the stiff feel of a 5-Star luxury resort, but instead a homely and cosy combination, where guests can dine in the library or privacy of their own suite. Enjoy the mesmerising views over three of New Zealand's most incredible peaks: The Remarkable, Cecil Peak and Walter Peak.
WINE AND DINE
Head chef Jonathan Rogers changes the menu at Matakauri Lodge daily, tailoring the changing seasonal and local products into the menus, ensuring each guest tastes the traditional flavours of New Zealand. The setting from which to enjoy the delicious menu are for you to decide, whether you want to enjoy it from the sophisticated dining room, or the cosy courtyard.
