ACCOMMODATION
THE BOATHOUSE
The Boathouse is one of the most spectacular luxury hotels, teetering on the edge of the water, with stunning views over the bay. The design of the property takes inspiration from a colonial wool shed that once used to stand near by, and was designed by prominent New Zealand architect Pip Cheshire. A marriage of rustic, natural materials with the very best luxury, adopting a modern rustic feel. There is plenty of space at The Boatshed, both indoor and outdoor, as well as two bedrooms, boasting the beautiful combination of timber and stone designs.
THE COOPER RESIDENCE
Nestled in to the headland, with uninterrupted views of both the ocean and the countryside, The Cooper Residence is an idyllic New Zealand resort, used by the owners themselves. Boasting a collection of Maori artifacts and splendid artwork, as well antique books and some ancient relics, the property is an amalgamation of the old and the new. The only property a The Landing that comes with its own private chef, you can indulge in custom made menus suited to your tastes and needs. Offering up five spacious bedrooms, with overhead beams and flaxen rugs, and a tremendous fireplace in the heart of the house. The hotel accommodation is modelled on the style of a traditional barn, with earthy hues, industrial beams and wooden floors, creating a homely tone. The five magnificent bedrooms each offer comfort and luxury, while the guests will find themselves treated to the very best service with their personal chef.
VINEYARD VILLA
The Vineyard Villa sits snuggled amongst The Landing's ocean of leafy vines, with sweeping views of the sea and mountains. There are three bedrooms, including a spacious master suite, and two equally luxurious king bedrooms, all enjoying beautiful views across the valley and Wairoa Bay. The exposed stonework, mahogany timbers and industrial beams fit in with the aesthetic of The Landing and create a rustic atmosphere. The glass floor to ceiling windows at the front of the house slide away and evaporate, opening the living room to the outside world and creating a beautiful airy feel. The intimate open-air fireplace is the ideal place to cosy up by and watch the sun set over the bay. From the vineyards there are paths that snake away through the vines to the coast and are perfect for an afternoon exploring.
GABRIEL RESIDENCE
As with most of The Landing's property, the architecture is inspired from New Zealand's farming heritage and Maori culture. The Gabriel Residence is no different, styled of traditional farm buildings and perched just above the bay. This four-bedroom property is set over two floors and boasts spectacular views across the sparkling bay, emerald hills and leafy vineyard. A home-away-from-home, Gabriel Residence is beautifully spacious, with a kitchen large enough to entertain the whole of New Zealand, and a charming terrace ideal for up the sun and scenery. There are a further three indoor living areas for finding some peace and quiet and a beautiful library/den to keep you entertained.
WINE AND DINE
There are no buzzing restaurants or seaside cafes at The Landing, instead only the privacy of your own home. The properties are each fully stocked with food, and you can decide if you want to cook or take advantage of the private chef on offer. The cuisine is mouth wateringly delicious, and made however you would like, whether paired with some of The Landing's delicious wines, or simply with a glass of your chosen tipple. Your chef will take you on a culinary journey, tracing the source of your meal from the garden to your plate, and the inspiration behind each of the dishes. Those lucky enough to stay at the Cooper Residence have a private chef at their disposal, while all the other properties must request them at an additional cost, but trust us, it is worth it.
ACTIVITIES
All the properties come with pre-planned activities, including a Vineyard tour, which wouldn't be complete without a tasting of the wines themselves. Enjoy guided walks with a private guide, visiting the Maori archaeological sites, and discovering the wildlife and heritage conservation projects taking place around you. Meander down to one of six private beaches and watch the sun slowly drop behind the horizon or jump on board the Iti Rangi for an afternoon sailing around the bay.
