ACCOMMODATION
Cobblers Cove has 40 colonial-style Suites in a number of cottages, all with separate living area and private terrace or balcony. Garden Suites are set amongst the tropical greenery; Ocean View Suites have part sea views, while Ocean Front Suites are close to the beach with panoramic views over the azure water. The most impressive accommodations are The Camelot and Colleton Suites. Located in the original plantation house, they both have their own rooftop terrace reached by a spiral staircase. Décor throughout is English-country-house-meets-the-tropics, with cane furniture, sandstone tiles, white linens and a selection of books. Rooms don’t have TVs though there is a separate TV lounge and library.
FOR FAMILIES
The beachfront setting and calm waters make this a great resort for families over the age of twelve. All of the suites can accommodate a rollaway bed for one child, while the interconnecting Suites and the two-bedroom Suites, which can sleep up to five, work particularly well for larger families. The resort offers lessons in water-skiing, sunfish sailing and tennis. The hotel also offers coaching for teens at nearby Apes Hill Golf Club and Franklyn Stephenson Cricket Academy. There are plenty of opportunities to try new watersports or to go off property to surf and kite-surf or to watch cricket and horse racing.
FOR WEDDINGS & HONEYMOONS
The private-home atmosphere of Cobblers Cove lends itself perfectly to weddings, whether you’re planning an intimate ceremony or something larger. You can choose where to take your vows – barefoot on the beach, perhaps, or in the gardens serenaded by birdsong – and the hotel’s chef will work with you to create a superb wedding breakfast. Honeymooners can book candlelit dinners on the sand or in the Lazybones Pavilion which offers a private, al fresco dining experience close to the beach. The Camelot and Colleton Suites, with their sumptuous four-poster beds, pretty décor and private rooftop terraces, are easily the most romantic rooms, each offering a spectacular sunset for two.
