ACCOMMODATION
Laluna offers just 16 Cottages and Villas, most tucked into the hillside above the main resort. The Cottage Suites are the highest and therefore have the best views, though one of the cottages is just steps from the beach. Architects Gabriella Giuntoli – who designed Giorgio Armani’s Tunisian holiday home – and Salvatore Perna have blended Balinese elements with Italian and Caribbean aesthetics to create a unique ambience: you’re unlikely to find a handcrafted Balinese four-poster bed wrapped in Bellora Italian linen anywhere else in the islands. Cottages, which all feature breezy, open-plan design, with French doors onto a private veranda and plunge pool, offer most in the way of drama, decorated in a palette of cinnamon, violet, blues and yellows, while the Villas have a light, contemporary feel.
FOR FAMILIES
Laluna isn’t suitable for young families as it doesn’t accept children under 12 and there are no dedicated facilities. However, older children will appreciate its unstuffy atmosphere, not to mention the availability of familiar dishes such as spaghetti and ravioli. The two-bedroom Cottages are actually two side-by-side individual suites, each with its own bedroom, bathroom and plunge pool, making them ideal for families. The three-, four- and five-bedroom Villas, all with a large private pool, are perfect for larger families.
FOR WEDDINGS & HONEYMOONS
Say ‘I do’ here and Laluna’s own wedding coordinator will take care of all the details, from pinpointing the best spot on the powder white beach for your ceremony to arranging a delicious al fresco wedding breakfast. If you’d like your friends and family to join you on your big day, why not book the whole resort? For those seeking simple luxury in secluded surroundings, Laluna is one of the most romantic destinations in the Caribbean, particularly in the evening when the candles are lit and the whole resort twinkles in the moonlight.
