Finesse is a former Belgian freight barge that was given a new life by European Waterways in 2015 and is now one of the finest hotel barges found on the French waterways. She can be booked for private charter or per cabin to cruise the scenic River Saône and Canal du Centre in Southern Burgundy. Picture windows stretching the length of the barge shed light onto ample suites, leather sofas and cosy armchairs and portray an ever-changing backdrop of rural France.
Four generously spacious suites sleep up to eight guests, each with a bed configuration of king or twins, plush carpets and a bamboo-floored en-suite bathroom. The Borealis and Vega suites are located at the stern (back) and the Castor and Polaris suites at the bow (front). Each suite has three portholes, whilst Borealis and Vega enjoy a fourth porthole in the bathroom.
The dining room hosts lazy breakfasts, three course lunches and candlelit dinners, while the saloon and bar provide a cosy environment to gather at any point during the day or evening. In line with Finesse’s contemporary style, the open demonstration galley kitchen provides a great source of entertainment as the Master Chef shows off his talents. Out on the sun deck, a dining table seating eight takes centre stage under an awning, and close by two sun loungers and a built-in outdoor seat accompany the barge’s hot tub.
