Some 2km from Mas de Maillet is the celebrated village of Gordes. Voted the ‘most beautiful village in the world’ by Travel+Leisure magazine, Gordes perches on a cliff top with views extending far across the Luberon National Park.
This stunning property is divided into three separate buildings, designed around a spectacular double swimming pool, and bordered with lavender fields, oak and olive orchards. Within 2km is the Abbaye de Sénanque, perhaps considered the emblem of Provence, as well as the village of Gordes itself.
An impressive collection of contemporary art and sculpture adorns the property and grounds, including several pieces commissioned especially for the project. The swimming pool is a central focus, featuring an eye-catching graphic design.
Bedrooms are comfortable and spacious, with high-quality Simmons mattresses laid with soft Egyptian cotton linens, and bathrooms with organic toiletries.
Breakfast comes with a view, where a lovely table is laid out each morning with fresh coffee, delicious pastries, marmalades, and fruits, and a 180-degree outlook across the Luberon Valley.
During high season rates also include the services of a chef 6 days per week (present 10 hours per day). Housekeeping is included daily (8 hours per day).
