YACHT CHARTER – KOS & THE DODECANESE ISLANDS

Sail around the beautiful Northern Dodecanese Islands, which are dotted across the Aegean Sea like stepping stones through the crystal-clear waters. Just a short hop between islands minimises time on the open sea and maximises time exploring the tranquil coastline and at anchor for swimming and snorkelling.

Each island has its own character, as you will discover, from wooded Leros, to castellated Patmos and volcanic Nisiros. Everywhere you go will contrast with where you have been yet you will retain the constant of a wonderful and characterful floating home on your gentle peregrinations through the archipelago.

Sample the delicious traditional Greek fare on Patmos and Kalimnos in particular, not forgetting the sumptuous meals prepared for you on board by your private cook while your captain finds the perfect evening anchorage for a peaceful night's repose.

Day 1 Embark in Kos

Board your gulet in Kos Harbour, just a 40 minute transfer from Kos airport. The Island of Kos is the birthplace of Hippocrates, 'the Father of Medical Sciences' and is also renowned for its nightlife. Take a quick swim off Lambi Beach before dinner under the stars aboard your beautiful gulet.

Day 2 Pserimos & Leros

In the morning, sail to nearby Pserimos, to a lovely, scenic spot for swimming. Enjoy breakfast in one of Pserimos's paradise bays before heading on to Leros. Leros is a natural wonder - the island of Artemis, Goddess of Forest - Leros is verdant and wooded. Enjoy a cycle ride through the scented pine trees and cicada-filled olive groves or stroll along the flower-filled streets and alleys of the town.

Day 3 Patmos

Cruise to Patmos for lunch. With a cluster of traditional whitewashed houses beneath a mighty fortress-like monastery, green slopes and turquoise coves, it is no wonder Patmos has been identified as one of Europe's "Most Idyllic Places" by Forbes Magazine. This is also where St John the Theologian is said to have written the Book of Revelations. Spend the evening in Patmos port and enjoy a delicious dinner in one of the harbourside tavernas.

Day 4 Lipsi

Set sail for the island of Lipsi. En route, pause for a swim at one of the many small islets in front of Lipsi, known for their turquoise waters. Surrounded by beautiful blue seas, great beaches and bird-filled rocks, Lipsi is also home to a host of tavernas and restaurants. Be sure to visit the churches of Catopanaghia (7th century) and Panopanaghia (15th century) and spend the evening in the small natural harbour.

Day 5 Kalimnos

Today you will cruise to Kalimnos, home to some stunning beaches, including Mirties and Vlyhadia. Enjoy the sun and sea or take a trip to one of the towns, where locals earn their keep through harvesting sea sponges.

Day 6 Nisiros

Sail to Nisiros a lush, green volcanic island offering spectacular scenery and great walks. If you are feeling active, head up to the huge Stefanos Crater or, if you are feeling lazy, enjoy a refreshing glass of soumada by the sea.

Day 7 Kos

Spend your final day moored off Kos, enjoying the gulet's watersports equipment followed by a final dinner on board.
