Life in Como happens on the lake. Commuters cross on hourly ferries, while merchants deliver supplies to restaurants and hotels. Boats filled with friends meet for fun and laughter, and the occasional tryste of star-crossed lovers, from opposing sides of Lake Como.
Villages that dot the shores of the lake include Torno, a pretty village with cafés, simple restaurants, and a small marina for boat chartering. Located on the edge of Torno and accessible by a short pathway is Villa Giada, an impressive 8-bedroom villa sleeping up to 16 people. Set over several levels and surrounded with rose-bordered gardens and terraces, the villa is spacious, comfortable, and perfectly positioned for discovering the best of the lake.
During high season the services of the villa chef are included three days a week, for two meals a day. One of those days could be a cooking class, where you can create your own authentic pizza or pasta. The gate house, located just as you enter the Villa Giada property, is home to the villa's two permanent custodians who are always on-site and available. Excellent facilities on site include a heated pool, Technogym, table tennis, and billiards, as well as direct lake access with a jetty, perfect for swimming and boarding water-taxis. Villa Giada's spacious summer terraces, comfortably furnished with loungers and chairs, provide a ring-side view of all the action, with views extending across the lake to the villages of Cernobbio and Moltrasio, and beyond, a mountainous Alpine backdrop.
