TREATMENTS AND ACTIVITIES
With the Alps on the doorstep there is no shortage of mountain sports activities and The Chedi will provide all the equipment you require, whether hiking, biking or skiing. There's even a gorgeous vintage Morgan you can hire to whisk your beloved off for a romantic drive and picnic. Nearby, golfers may take advantage of the 18-hole, par-72 course set against the stunning backdrop of the Urseren Valley.
FACILITIES
Back at the hotel, 10 extremely private treatment rooms facilitate muscle-soothing massages and pampering facials while the heated, 35-metre indoor pool is a great place to relax after a strenuous day in the mountains. Even the 12-metre outdoor pool is heated year-round and, in winter, guests can also skate on the frozen pond just a few steps away. There's an excellent gym with personal trainers available and a small studio for yoga and mat Pilates. The ski lifts are a three minute walk away and provide access to the Andermatt+Sedrun+Disentis skiArena with over 180 kilometres of slopes.
SLEEPING
The Chedi honestly has some of the most comfortable beds we have ever encountered. The 119 spacious rooms and suites (the smallest of which is 52sqm) are furnished with smooth leathers, warm woods and soft velvets. Each is a perfect cocoon of unashamed luxury.
A further five buildings provide private residences for larger groups and families and are linked to the public areas by underground passageways.
EATING
The Restaurant has four open kitchens serving a European and Asian menu for lunch and dinner. There is also a small and intimate Japanese Restaurant with two Michelin stars that is open in the winter season only. The vast lobby bar has several open fires and deep sofas for serious lounging and just off this is a smaller bar with DJ, cigar lounge with a large collection and living room with ski butler service. Cheese connoisseurs will be drawn to The Wine and Cheese Cellar, housed in five-metre-high glass walls with over 53 cheeses.
