ACCOMMODATION
Alphonse Island Resort offers 22 A-frame Beach Bungalows and five Beach Suites, all just steps from the beach and each shielded from its neighbours by thick vegetation. The Suites are the most spacious, with a large lounge area and an additional bathroom, but all have their own private outside space and open-air shower. Bungalows and Suites are Crusoe-chic, crafted in local materials and decorated in a palette of whites, greys and neutrals. Bikes are provided for getting around the resort and exploring the island.
FOR FAMILIES
Alphonse Island Resort is a safe and secure environment, making it perfect for children of all ages. Bungalows can accommodate two adults and one child; Suites two adults and two children, with cots provided on request. Bicycles are available for children aged 3+; baby seats for adult bicycles are subject to availability. While there is no dedicated kids' club, there are plenty of organised activities for children and masses of things families can do together, from swimming and snorkeling to picnics on secluded beaches and excursions to feed the giant tortoises. Carefully thought-out children's menus are available in the restaurant. Babysitting on request.
FOR WEDDINGS & HONEYMOONS
Weddings are possible but complicated by the fact that the registrar has to be flown over from the mainland, either by the twice-weekly scheduled service or by private air charter. The island’s spectacular location, five-star service and wide range of activities, however, combine to make this the perfect destination for an action-packed honeymoon. When you’re not scuba diving, fly fishing, snorkelling, swimming or discovering the island by bicycle, you can relax by the pool or on your own private deck; enjoy a moonlight dinner on a sandbar or take a sunset cruise for two. The resort encourages guests to swap tales of ‘the one that got away’ in the bar before dinner, but you can be as sociable or private as you like.
