Day 1 Arrive Rio de Janeiro
Set between the mountains and the sea, Rio is a unique combination of stunning landscapes and sizzling urban beaches. You’ll be staying Hotel Fasano Rio, an oasis of contemporary chic right on the legendary Ipanema Beach.

Day 2 Rio de Janeiro
Today you will visit all the iconic sights of Rio, including the Christ the Redeemer statue at the summit of Corcovado mountain. Enjoy a delicious gaucho (cowboy) barbecue lunch, before riding the cable car to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain. For a truly unique bird’s-eye view of Rio, enjoy a private helicopter flight over the city.

Day 3 Rio-Salvador
Catch a flight to Salvador, capital of the state of Bahia and a UNESCO World Heritage City. Salvador is one of the oldest colonial cities in the region, with a vibrant artistic, cultural and social heritage. It also boasts 365 churches, one for each day of the year. Your hotel for the next three nights is a delightful colonial house in the centre of the city’s historical Pelourinho district.

Day 4 Salvador
A chance to visit two of the city’s finest churches: the splendid Basilica Cathedral of Salvador and the 18th-century Church of St Francis, with its sumptuous gold-leaf interior. There will also be an option for an extended tour of the Mercado Modelo (local market), selling colourful textiles and local produce.

Day 5 Salvador
Brazil’s delicious cuisine owes its unique flavour to a combination of Indian, Portuguese and African influences. It varies from region to region and a cookery class in Salvador will show you how it’s done in Bahia. Start by visiting a local market and continue to a restaurant, where you will prepare and enjoy the fruits of your labour.

Day 6 Salvador – Iguaçu Falls
Catch a flight to Iguaçu Falls, which straddles the Brazil-Argentina border. Made up of 275 individual drops over nearly two miles, these are the biggest falls in the world. You’ll stay at one of Brazil’s classic hotels. The Belmond Hotel das Cataratas is the only hotel in the Iguaçu National Park.

Day 7 Iguaçu Falls
Today you will explore the Iguaçu Falls from both sides of the border: first a helicopter flight for thrilling aerial views, then a trip to the Argentine side to get up close and personal with the raging chasm known as the Devil's Throat.

Day 8 Foz do Iguaçu to Florianópolis
Catch a flight to Florianópolis on Brazil’s Emerald Coast and drive to the exclusive resort of Ponta dos Ganchos. This exceptional property, set on its own private peninsula, will be your home for the next four nights.

Day 9 - 11 Florianópolis
Days at leisure can be spent relaxing at the resort, perhaps enjoying the views from the infinity pool over the oyster beds to the mountains in the distance. If you are feeling more active, we recommend you take out one of the resort’s SUP boards or Canadian canoes to explore the surrounding islands. There’s a games room and a tennis court if you don’t wish to venture too far, as well as a restorative spa.

Day 12 Depart Florianópolis
Drive back to Florianópolis airport and catch your flight home via Rio or Sao Paulo.
