This is not just a place of jaw dropping landscapes. Wildlife in the form of grazing guanacos, soaring condors, curious armadillos and other species that make the Patagonian wilderness their home can be observed in their natural habitat, untroubled by the very few visitors who make it as far as here. Patagonia’s most elusive predator, the puma, can also be found here and the Cerro Guido Conservation Foundation carries out important work tracking puma activity in the area. You can even follow the trackers in their work as part of the estancia's extensive activity programme.

The culture and traditions of life in Patagonia also form a key element of a stay at Estancia Cerro Guido. These traditions are lovingly preserved by the gauchos who have long called this area home. Guests can follow the gauchos in their daily work across the estancia, herding sheep and cattle on horseback, training dogs, shearing sheep and caring for the horses. The gauchos also pass on their rich traditions of food and drink, preparing traditional asado barbecues on an open fire, where slow-cooked lamb accompanied by fine Chilean wines round off memorable days in wildest Patagonia.
