Striking desert landscapes, sustainable design and wellness in nature come together in full force at Nayara Alto Atacama. Its construction drawing upon traditional indigenous design elements, this luxurious desert lodge blends seamlessly into the glowing red Salt Mountain ridge that rises behind it. The effect is powerful: low-lying structures with adobe walls are surrounded by hand-carved rock beds and a garden grown from seeds collected around the Altiplano. Inside, ancient ceramics and wall hangings punctuate the chic, pared back interior design.
A collection of welcoming rooms and suites provide sensitive climate control for the desert extremes, and all offer private terraces looking out to the gardens, the Catarpe Valley or the Salt Mountain Range. A sublime spa features indoor and outdoor treatment areas, geothermal mineral baths and an outdoor jacuzzi heated by water from underground. Six plunge pools are each afforded privacy by natural stone walls and tufts of pampas grass. The lodge boasts the region's only open-air observatory, perched high on a nearby hillside.
