Day 1 Arrival into Bogota
Arrive into Bogota – Colombia’s beating heart, the vibrant
capital city is surrounded by jagged Andean mountains. This uber trendy city
plays an important part in the countries culture and history with one of the
most important art hubs in the whole of Latin America.

Day 2 Explore Bogota
Explore the winding streets of La Candelaria and surrounding
neighbourhoods learning about Bogota’s history, politics and its many murals and
street art. Pass by government buildings, the iconic Plaza Bolivar, and city
centre's impactful street art and continue on to visit the home of the world’s
largest collection of pre-Columbian gold. These extraordinary pieces have been recovered
from archaeological sites throughout Colombia, and their significance in
cultural traditions of ancient and existing indigenous tribes.

Day 3 Bogota to the wetlands of Llanos Orientales
Catch a flight to Yopal Airport and drive
to the Corocora Camp - an exclusive Tented Camp set inside a private reserve,
located in the Llanos Orientales region. Famous for its strong cowboy culture
and its rich wildlife, the Llanos Orientales form part of the vast Orinoco
region providing an ideal retreat for endless horseback safaris, and an
immersion in nature.

Day 4 Explore the Llanos Orientales
Spend the morning with the llaneros (local cowboys)
experiencing their traits: barefoot riding, corralling cattle, using melody to
call and ease cattle, and using the laso. Explore the region on horse in search
of the region’s most fascinating animals, including anacondas, capybaras,
tapirs, anteaters, monkeys, crocodiles, and if you get lucky you may even catch
a glance of jaguars and pumas.

Day 5 Fly to Medellin
Before catching a flight to Medellin, join a local expert on
a mission to check camera traps that track the jaguars and pumas, which is part
of a conservation project to help identify, understand and protect the region’s
felines, which are endangered species.

Day 6 Explore Medellin
Today you will explore and learn about the social and
cultural transformation Medellin has undergone in recent years as it moves
towards peace. The city has long suffered a bad reputation on the international
stage, (no) thanks to the dark cloud cast by Pablo Escobar’s violent drug
cartels of the 80s. Visiting Escobar’s burial site, you will learn about this infamous figure’s reign of
terror and eventual demise. The famous Edifico Monaco - Escobar's former home - was destroyed in early 2019 to make way for a memorial park to the victims of drug crimes.

Day 7 Medellin to Barichara
After breakfast catch a flight to Bucaramanga and continue by road on to Barichara - a stunning Spanish colonial town saturated with atmosphere, red-tiled roofs and cobbled streets. The town is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful small colonial towns in Colombia.

Day 8 Explore Barichara
After breakfast explore the streets of Barichara, walking through its streets paved with clay-coloured stones, cross tree-lined plazas and admire the colourful houses roofed with clay tiles. Founded in 1705, its natural beauty, temperate climate and bohemian lifestyle have long attracted visitors.

Day 9 Barichara to Cartagena
After breakfast catch a flight to Cartagena – Colombia’s
jewel in its crown! Cartagena is the undisputed queen of the Caribbean coast, a
fairy-tale city of romance lying within an impressive 13km of centuries-old
colonial stone walls.

Day 10 Explore Cartagena
Accompanied by a local historian, wander the winding streets
of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Cartagena. With its colourful historic
centre, iconic plazas, cathedrals and colonial mansions that characterise
Cartagena. Continue on to enjoy a unique rum tasting experience in which your
expert guide will show you how different rums are processed and aged, in order
to recognise its unique characteristics.

Day 11 Islas Del Rosario
Aboard a 38-foot speedboat you will explore the Caribbean
waters of the Islas del Rosario archipelago, located 50-minutes off the coast
of Cartagena. These rugged islands are blessed with clear blue waters,
colourful coral reefs, and diverse marine life. Spend the day cruising between
islands and snorkelling at your rhythm.

Day 12 Depart Cartagena
This morning bid farewell to Cartagena as you transfer to
the international airport to catch your flight home.
