Day 1 Arrive in San Jose
Arrive into San Jose, Costa Rica's capital, and transfer to your colourful coffee plantation hotel located in peaceful rolling hills outside the city. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to recover from the journey, perhaps with a dip in the infinity pool or soothing massage in the spa.

Day 2 Coffee and relaxation in the Central Valley
Enjoy a full day in the beautiful natural surroundings of Finca Rosa Blanca. Joining a tour of the estate's organic coffee farm is an absolute must during your stay, whilst a stroll through the tropical gardens offers opportunities to spot an array of birds and butterflies. Alternatively, if you would simply prefer to relax in preparation for the days ahead then this is the perfect place.

Day 3 To Tortuguero
Today you will set out early for a scenic journey from San Jose to the Tortuguero National Park. The second part of your journey introduces you to the pristine waterways of the flooded rainforest as you travel by motorised canoe to your riverside lodge. Arrive in time for lunch followed by an afternoon activity introducing you to these remarkable surroundings.

Day 4 Tortuguero National Park
Small-group activities on offer at your lodge may include a visit to the colourful village of Tortuguero, a twilight rainforest walk, kayaking and a guided wildlife safari by motorised canoe along Tortuguero's nature-rich canals. Keep a lookout for the diverse range of birds as well as sloths, howler monkeys and perhaps even the 'Jesus Christ lizard' which appears to skate along the surface of the water. Between the months of July and October, turtle nesting tours can also be arranged.

Day 5 To Arenal
After breakfast at your lodge, soar over spectacular flooded forest scenery and south to La Fortuna, gateway town to the Arenal Volcano. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your beautiful Rainforest Pool Villa at Nayara Gardens. Spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying facilities such as thermal pools, tropical gardens and the sloth trail.

Day 6 Arenal Volcano hike
This morning set out on a private guided hike in the Arenal Volcano National Park, taking in landscapes of tropical forests and historic lava flows. You will also be able to enjoy incredible views over Lake Arenal and the Monteverde mountains. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy the facilities of your resort or arrange further activities such as zip lining, rafting or kayaking on the lake.

Day 7 Safari float & culinary workshop
This morning embark on a leisurely journey along the tranquil Peñas Blancas River, where you'll encounter a rich tapestry of wildlife including monkeys, sloths, turtles, caimans and vibrant aquatic birds. This afternoon the art of crafting homemade tortillas and savour the flavours of picadillo gallada, a traditional Costa Rican dish bursting with flavour. You will also be able to bring a taste of Costa Rica home with your very own homemade chilera hot sauce.

Day 8 Arenal to Rio Perdido
Bid farewell to Arenal and journey northwest to Rio Perdido. Sitting in a green blanket made up of pristine forest and rocky canyon-filled terrain, this eco-conscious hideaway caters to lovers of nature and adventure in equal measure. Bungalows sit on stilts allowing the forest beneath to flourish untouched and, in the kitchen, organic home-grown ingredients are magically transformed into delicious cuisine.

Day 9 White water tubing
Embark on an utterly exhilarating white water tubing adventure along a spectacular river canyon close to Rio Perdido. Enjoy unspoiled landscapes, colourful birds and the flow of the river which ranges from gentle meandering to exciting rapids. Return to the lodge for an afternoon at leisure.

Day 10 Further activities from Rio Perdido
Today is free for you to enjoy further activities from Rio Perdido. Ride along scenic trails or refresh your senses in the pristine waters of Rio Blanco, where cascading waterfalls invite leisurely swims and moments of quiet contemplation. Adrenaline seekers can opt to soar through the jungle canopy on exhilarating zip-line adventures, offering unparalleled views of the lush surroundings. You could also opt for mountain biking or visits to the thermal canyon and springs. Those seeking to slow the pace can find their balance with yoga sessions in the blissful natural surroundings.

Day 11 To the beach
Leave the forests of Rio Perdido behind and journey south to the Nicoya Peninsula. Here you can enjoy some well-deserved beach relaxation on the Pacific Coast.

Day 12 - 13 Beach relaxation on the Pacific Coast
After your previous days of adventure, you may well be ready to simply spend some leisurely time relaxing by the pool or strolling along the pristine beach. You could also venture into Santa Teresa to discover its cafes and laidback restaurants. Further afield, a variety of natural reserves can be explored with a specialist naturalist guide, and other activities including riding and canopy zip lining can be arranged. A small selection of spa treatments is also offered in an open-sided bungalow by the beach.

Day 14 Depart
After a final breakfast on the Pacific coast, you will be driven to Santa Teresa regional airport. Here, take a short flight back to San Jose in time for your international flight home.
