Day 4 - 8 Galapagos Islands
Enjoy four whole days exploring from island to island stopping off en route to visit ancient lava fields where prehistoric reptiles such as the Galapagos tortoise and land and marine iguanas roam. It is possible to see, quite close up, such magnificent creatures as sea lions, dolphins, Galapagos penguins and to watch the courtship dances of the blue-footed boobies.Your itinerary will depend on a number of factors, not least weather, but you can expect to visit some of the following places: Cerro Brujo, Punta Suarez, Bartolome and Las Bachas, Black Turtle Cove, Gardner Bay Espaniola, Punta Suarez, El Chato Highlands, North Seymour, as well as the Darwin Research Centre on Santa Cruz island. Darwin sailed to Galapagos in 1835 aboard HMS Beagle and his research here helped him to create his pinnacle masterpiece, On the Origin of Species.
