Day 1 Arrive Muscat
Arrive at Muscat International Airport and transfer to The Chedi, where you will spend all four nights. The Chedi is an extremely sophisticated property, set on the shores of the Gulf of Oman, in an enormous tropical garden with lawns down to the beach. The white, low-rise buildings echo the traditional Omani palaces but the whole style is very much influenced by Asia, with subdued lighting, plenty of dark wood against bright white walls and a sense of calm elegance, infusing the very fabric of the property. The rooms have attractive furnishings and high quality textiles and decorations. There are a number of pools, including the amazing 103 metre long infinity pool, and the elegant spa is possibly the finest in Oman.

Day 2 Muscat
Spend the day enjoying the comforts of the Chedi and relaxing after the journey.

Day 3 Muscat
After breakfast, meet your car and local guide for a morning seeing the principal sites of this interesting and elegant city. Visit the extraordinary Grand Mosque, which quite takes the breath away. Also see the amazing Opera House, the traditional fish market at the port of Muttrah and the adjacent souq. The old town has a couple of Portuguese forts guarding the harbour, which makes it very scenic, whilst the Bait Al Zubair Museum gives an excellent introduction to Oman's history and culture. The afternoon is at leisure to relax at the Chedi.

Day 4 Muscat
Potter down to the marina and set off on a privately chartered motor-boat down through the sheltered creeks and bays south of the city. Here the fish life is particularly abundant and the water is especially clear, so the snorkelling is very good and there are excellent opportunities to see turtles. See too the resident pods of dolphin that live in the bay and also try some fishing if you like.

Transfer to the airport and fly home.
