Along with his experienced team of guides, Julius takes small groups of guests deep into the untouched valleys of British Columbia’s Selkirk Mountains, be it up in the Alpines where sweeping views can be absorbed from the roof of the world, or through an enchanting ancient rainforest, the only one of its kind in the world. Along the way, spot the region’s famed black and grizzly bears who hunt along the riverbanks in search of salmon. The area is also home to moose, deer, elk, bald eagle, and porcupine, as well as the more elusive cougar, bobcat, coyote and grey wolf who can seldom be seen skulking through the thicket.
At the lodge, enjoy welcoming hospitality alongside high-tech modern amenities. Each guest resides in their own cosy riverside log cabin equipped with a wood-burning stove and reliable internet (a rarity so deep into the wilderness!). Appetising meals are prepared using only fresh and local ingredients, many of which are grown on the property, and are delightfully rounded off each evening with a well-deserved glass of wine. This is also the perfect time to learn more about your surroundings as the lodge’s experts give fascinating talks about the bears. For added indulgence, relax your muscles after a day’s trekking in the sauna or hot tub, pleasantly suspended on a platform over the river.
